OPS Calculator

OPS adds on-base percentage to slugging percentage for one number that captures both getting on base and hitting for power. Enter raw stats or plug in OBP and SLG directly.

Formula

OPS = OBP + SLG

OBP and SLG are added unrounded, then the sum is rounded — so OPS can differ by a point from adding the two rounded numbers by hand. Tiers are MLB rules of thumb. Youth and high school numbers run much higher and aren't directly comparable.

How it works

OPS = OBP + SLG. On-base percentage rewards reaching base; slugging rewards extra bases. Adding them gives a rough all-in-one hitting number. Enter component stats and this tool computes both pieces, or switch to the rate-input mode if you already have OBP and SLG.

Worked example

A hitter with a .368 OBP and a .444 slugging percentage has an OPS of .368 + .444 = .811 (using the unrounded values before the final rounding).
